90 Percent Raw Food Diet Information

A raw food diet is one in which you consume nothing but unprocessed plant, grain and nut-based foods in either a raw state or heated to no more than 115 degrees. A 90 percent raw food diet is mostly raw with a little room for cooked foods.

Types

    With a 90 percent raw, or "high raw," diet, the majority of your food comes from unprocessed plant-based sources. Some raw foodists include raw fish, but most diets that are classified as raw mean "raw vegan."

    The effects of a high raw diet vary with the individual, but most people report feeling more energetic and ceasing to suffer from an array of health problems.

Benefits

    Although a diet high in unprocessed foods and sugars and high in vegetables, grains and fruit is a healthy choice, some foods are easier to digest, are healthier and have higher levels of antioxidants when cooked. A 90 percent raw diet allows for inclusion of these foods, whereas a 100 percent raw diet does not.
