How to Stick with a Raw Food Diet for the Long Term

If you are like most raw foodists you started a raw food diet several times but had trouble actually staying with it.

Well, today I am going to give you some simple steps you can follow that will allow you to stay raw for the long term.

Instructions

    1

    Eat Plenty of Greens -

From experience I know that if you do not eat enough greens your blood sugar gets out of whack and you feel dizzy and weak. This leads many of us to reach for some cooked food in an attempt to "slow down the detox" because we cannot handle that light headed feeling.

Green leafy greens help ground you and keep you feeling stable. To get more greens in your diet without all the oils and dressings try a green smoothie.

    2

Don't Eat Too Many Dried Fruits and Nuts -

I know this sounds like the opposite of what you should be doing, but actually eating too many dried fruits and nuts will make you crave heavy foods more often.

It is important to get your body used to feeling light. You don't want to weigh down your stomach too often or else you will become dependent on the feeling in order to feel full.

    3

Don't Have an All or Nothing Attitude -

This is a weakness I had for a very long time. You are really excited on your diet thinking... i've been raw for 10 days so far! Then you have a moment of weakness and eat something cooked.

Most people think... "Oh No! Now I have to start all over at day one!" Having that attitude will lead you to failure. You WILL have slip ups along the way. The important thing is to not beat yourself up, but to just pull yourself up and get back on track.
